Rug Burn!

Though he has not graduated from the "belly crawl," Nicholas has managed to get some pretty serious red marks around his knees and his arms. Over the holiday weekend, he was so tired from keeping up with his older brother that he actually slept through the night with no disturbances -- a personal best. He is now much more attentive to his surroundings, and he knows when he is put on the back burner. Leave him to play on the floor with a menagerie of toys and he won't go unheard for long, and if we pay him any attention at all and then leave -- unacceptable!

Last Saturday afternoon marked the auspicious occasion of Nicholas' first "Technicolor Yawn." His brother gave him the nasty stomach virus he had suffered with earlier in the week. The poor little fella fared pretty well, given the circumstances, and Pedialyte works wonders. We gave him one teaspoonful every five minutes for two hours, through a little medicine syringe. He looked like a miserable little gerbil drinking out of that thing, but he is over the first part of it and onto the second. We'll spare everyone the details...
