Well, summer is here, which means transitions into a different lifestyle! Owen gets to stay home and sleep in (until 7am instead of 6:15, and believe Mom, it makes a BIG difference!) Kindercare was lots of fun, and he'll be back in the fall, but summertime is for bonding with bro. And by bonding, we mean screaming, crying, throwing fits and occasionally kissing and hugging "Little Neenie" We're moving Owen over to the kitchen table for meals, and he seems to like it a lot, but the high chair is still for coloring and messy foods. A few weeks ago, he had croup, which landed us in the ER early one Saturday morning for a dose of Motrin and oral steroid, which did the trick. The barking sound is so scary, as is the look on Owen's face when he hears that sound coming from himself. Poor guy. Somehow, we thought that croup was a thing of old, lost in some episode of Little House on the Prairie, but alas, no. So, once again, we can hope that Owen will enter kindergarten in four years entirely immune to every possible illness. Bedtime is later now too, due to longer days, and Owen's nighttime ritual involves Dora, Diego and My Big Boy Potty Book. He likes to TALK about the potty a lot, but once he goes on it, all interest is lost. Is there a Use the Potty with Dora and Diego book out there? Must google that...
