Hooray! The "S" word!
This Christmas Eve, Nicholas actually had teeth, which meant that he could, and did, enjoy a traditional piece of family recipe pizza. It's hard to know HOW many little ones were present at Dad's side of the family's gathering. Aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins... there were lots of tables and chairs. And LOTS of PIZZA! We took some leftover pizza home with us, and he munched on the crust the next morning while I warmed mine up and ate it with some extra cheese on top. Dad likes his cold with a cup of black coffee. And later in the day, when we went to Grandma and Grandpa A's house, there was lots of leftover pizza there, too. Christmas morning at home was really more about the wrapping than the gifts, which we did expect, although he did show interest in whatever toy Owen was playing with! And, we were amazed at how good Nicholas was at Mass on Christmas morning. We think he just loved all the faces, lights and decorations -- and even though he should have been asleep, we were delighted that he was so engaged in all the goings-on.
