So the new year's resolution to keep more current with the blog is slightly delayed, but here goes!
Well, I have found that it is true that the more I anticipate what is likely to happen on a certain holiday, the more surprised I am. This year, we purchased the Fisher Price Little People Nativity Set to make things a little more interactive for the boys. I didn't want to be telling them not to touch the porcelain figurines that we have been using for the past three years, because I wanted them to learn who was whom, etc. I guess I never imagined hearing "THAT'S MY BABY JESUS NICHOLAS. MINE! MINE!" I guess I kind of thought that where the creche scene was concerned, my children would just have amnesty from all disagreement. The great gift of this Christmas was realizing just how human my children really are. Poor Mary and Joseph went flying across the living room one night. The angel got used as a teether on another occasion. The tradition I will stick to is making a birthday cake for Baby Jesus. Santa gets to have the first piece when he comes to deliver the presents. But as the video illustrates, I was sadly mistaken about WHOSE birthday it was...
